Call For Abstracts!

Overview

We are delighted to invite abstract submissions for the 1st WASLI Asia 2025 Conference. This ground-breaking event will unite experts, researchers, practitioners, and thought leaders to explore key issues and innovations within the field of sign language interpreting in Asia. We welcome contributions from a diverse range of disciplines and perspectives to foster dialogue, knowledge exchange, and collaboration.

Submission Guidelines

  • Abstracts should not exceed 300 words.

  • The abstract must clearly outline:

    1. Research objectives

    2. Methodology

    3. Key findings or theoretical insights

    4. Implications and/or significance

  • Please include 4 relevant keywords for indexing purposes.

  • Format: Word document, Arial, 12-point font.

  • Submissions should be sent via email to: organiser@wasli-asia2025.com

Topics of Interest

Submissions are encouraged on (but not limited to) the following themes:

  • Interpreting Practices in the Asian Region

  • Technology and Artificial Intelligence in Interpreting

  • Mental Health and Well-Being of Interpreters

  • Intersectionality Issues in Interpreting

Abstracts addressing related topics are also welcome.

Abstract Review Process

All submissions will undergo a peer-review process, evaluating:

  • Relevance to the conference theme

  • Originality and significance of the work

  • Clarity and organization

Accepted abstracts will be presented as either paper presentations or panel sessions, depending on topic and availability.

Important Notes

Authors of accepted abstracts must be registered for the full conference and present their topic during the conference.

Should there be a change in presenter, the author will need to inform the Secretariat by email at organiser@wasli-asia2025.com.
