It is with ardent enthusiasm that JUPEBIM (Interpreters and Translators Association for the Kuala Lumpur and Selangor Deaf Community) and WASLI (World Association of Sign Language Interpreters) Regional Representatives welcome you to the 1st WASLI Asia Conference 2025!

 

Set in the vibrant and dynamic city of Kuala Lumpur, the conference will be held at the Cititel Mid Valley Hotel from 31st July to 3rd August 2025. The theme for this conference, "Building Bridges: Strengthening Partnerships within Asia," is not only a call to action but also an invitation for all Asian countries to forge stronger and lasting connections within the sign language interpreting profession. While we recognize the significant development needs across the region, it is through unity and collaboration that we can drive progress.

 

Our programme will feature an exciting lineup, including keynote sessions, plenary sessions, workshops, paper presentations, and crossfire/panel discussions. Topics will span a wide range, covering essential areas such as self-care, continuous learning, mentorship, ethics, and many more. We have gathered a distinguished group of professionals from across Asia whose insights and expertise will enrich these discussions.

 

In addition to the enriching academic program, we are excited to host a tour of Kuala Lumpur along with a conference dinner, where you will experience the diverse and delectable flavours of local cuisines and performances. We look forward to your participation and support in the 1st WASLI Asia Conference 2025.
